Venue

Tomsk is a city and the administrative center of Tomsk Oblast in Russia, located on the Tom River. Tomsk is considered one of the oldest towns in Siberia. The city is a notable educational and scientific center with six state universities, over 100,000 students, and the oldest university in Siberia. The time zone of Tomsk is UTC + 7 (four hours ahead of Moscow and seven hours ahead of Greenwich).

The widespread unofficial name of the city "Siberian Athens" appeared at the end of the 19th century after the opening of the first university in Siberia here. In 1896, the first higher technical educational institution in Siberia was founded (opened in 1900) - the Technological Institute (now Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU)).

TPU is one of the largest advanced educational centers in Russia, the only higher educational institution in the Asian part of Russia, one of the five best technical universities in the country. Received international recognition as a full member of international organizations: European Association of Reserch Management and Administrations (EARMA), Conderence of Engineering Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research (CESAER), Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research (CLUSTER), European University Association (EUA).
